What's OnMon, 20th January 2020

A very significant fire occurred to the surgery building in the early hours of this morning.  Multiple Fire Crews attended, but the building has been severely damaged.  Nearby homes were evacuated and there was reported to be some interruption to utility services locally for a period.

It is believed that residents nearby have been able to return to their properties, but if anyone remains in difficulty as a result of the fire, they should get in touch and the Parish Council will support them in accessing services.

The GP practice were able to text patients to cancel appointments this morning.  They are being supported by the Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group with arrangements going forwards.

At this time patients are asked to use the 111 telephone service to seek advice and appointments can be arranged via that number at other local surgeries.   People are asked not to contact other surgeries directly.

The council is aware that community is keen to offer support in a number of ways.  The local CCG and WBC are offering assistance to the Surgery.   The Parish Council is able to pass on any offers of support and assistance to the relevant agencies.

There is no official fund-raising effort at this time, but should this change the council will keep the community informed.  The Parish Council does not advocate any individual fundraising on behalf of the surgery.

More information will be posted when received.
