Dear Residents
The Coronation of King Charles III is nearly upon us and it is hoped that many residents will join the Coronation picnic Sunday 7th from noon.
Fete tradition is to erect poles and bunting a week or two prior to the fete, and this year we were planning to do this extra early in time for the Coronation of His Majesty. Despite everything we had planned and hoped for The Green is too wet and soggy for this to happen. To install the poles we need to use a tractor maneuvering backwards and forwards turning multiple times. This will create deep ruts, damage the grass further and potentially make The Green unusable for the picnic and potentially uneven for the fete.
We are so disappointed to bring you this news, bunting is a key part of all things Royal, and makes the village looks so festive.
We still want to find a way to mark this historic event, therefore this week we are approaching all the residents close to The Green to ask if they would like to hang some of the fete bunting on their houses.
