Partial adjournment of Planning Committee – 7 February

The meeting of the Planning Committee on 7 February was not able to proceed fully as per the agenda and responses to some applications have been deferred.

The Clerk was unexpectedly unable to attend the committee in person and therefore the usual remote meeting hosting was not able to be put into effect.  The meeting was still broadcast, but with limited visibility of the committee and sound, and so in view of these difficulties, the Committee resolved to proceed with only the most pressing business and to defer the applications that did not require a response this week, until a later date.

The applications that were NOT dealt with were:

WA/2022/00213 Hartfield, Ridgley Road
Erection of five detached dwellings and associated access and landscaping. Works associated with existing dwelling house including demolition of existing garage and erection of new garage and alterations to hard-standing.

WA/2022/00349 April Cottage, Combe Lane
Erection of extension to existing porch.

WA/2022/00267 Saxon Stables
Application under section 73a to remove condition 5 of WA/2021/01541 (no first floor level or mezzanine level shall be constructed) to allow for installation of a mezzanine floor for storage.

WA/2022/00215 & WA/2022/00262 Pickhurst, Pickhurst Road
Erection of extension conversion of stables with new mezzanine and stores following demolition of plant room and storage barn / Listed Building consent for above

WA/2022/00397 Maple Cottage, Petworth Road
Erection of extensions and alterations.

WA/2022/00396 Holcot, Woodside Road
Erection of extensions and alterations.

The Parish Council will seek agreement from Waverley Borough Council for an extension of time to respond to these applications so that they can be considered at the meeting of the Parish Council on Thursday 24 February 2022.

In addition the Parish Council is intending to publish an open letter addressing some points raised in correspondence and through planning responses published on the WBC portal, in relation to planning applications for sites not listed in the Neighbourhood Plan.

The Parish Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by the deferrals and issues with the broadcasting of the meeting today.
