Planning Applications

Whilst the Parish Council has no decision-making powers in the planning process, Waverley Borough Council (the Local Planning Authority) is required to consult the Council on planning and tree works applications originating in, or of relevance to the parish.  Applications are considered either by the Council’s Planning Committee or by the Council itself, depending on the timescales for responses, and are reported in the relevant meeting’s Minutes.  The Council is therefore able to contribute local knowledge and understanding to Waverley’s decision-making process.

The Council’s comments and any recommendations are forwarded by the Clerk for consideration by Waverley’s Planning Committee (or, more usually, by its delegated planning officer).  Waverley may or may not agree with the Council’s views, but will take account of them as part of the process determining the outcome of each application.

Currently Listed Applications:

Waverley Borough Council publish a weekly list of all new applications and these can be viewed on their website at Waverley Borough Council – Search planning applications.

You can search for specific planning applications (or ones in your road/area) at Planning | Waverley Borough Council.

All responses to each planning application (including those by the Council) are available on the Waverley Planning Portal within the relevant application’s documents.
