Ridgley Road Parking Restriction

RIDGLEY ROAD PARKING RESTRICTION

Surrey County Council (SCC) are consulting on parking restrictions around the junction of Ash Combe and Ridgley Road along with the provision of an uncontrolled crossing. The consultation closes on August 29th and comments can be made on the SCC website. www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-and-transport-consultations

In association with a new residential development, an uncontrolled crossing is to be provided for Ridgley Road, located immediately to the east of the Ridgley Road/ Ash Combe junction. Parking restrictions are proposed following the outcomes of a Road Safety Audit and have been developed further through discussions with SCC’s parking team.

The intention of the parking restrictions is to ensure that cars do not park in front of the uncontrolled crossing, and ensure the crossing is kept clear of parked cars, providing sight lines for pedestrians crossing Ridgley Road. The parking restrictions (double yellow lines) are proposed on all arms of the junction of Ridgley Road and Ash Combe, and on both sides of the road. On Ash Combe the restrictions will extend as far as the existing disabled parking bay. On Ridgley Road, to the east the restrictions will extend to end of the verge, and to the west to the footpath from Stephens Field.
