BE PREPARED
Throughout the year #SurreyPrepared will be thinking about what we can all do to prevent and prepare for life’s emergencies. Each month we are highlighting one action which we encourage everyone to take to help build up resilience.
Over the last year #community has become more important than ever and there have been wonderful examples of mutual support across #Surrey. During April Surrey Prepared is looking at some ways we can sustain this positive community action by sharing time or helpful information.
Have you benefitted from an #ActOfKindness? Help share the smile by letting us know #SurreyPrepared
Are you part of a brilliant community group? Give them a shout out – we’d love to hear about what you are doing! #goodnews #community #SurreyPrepared

Whether or not you join a volunteer group, there are ways that you can make a difference in your local community. Making connections and looking out for each other makes a huge difference. Chiddingfold Good Neighbours Scheme is a support and information network covering the Parish. Follow Chiddingfold Good Neighbours on Facebook. Other local volunteer schemes including Car-Go (community transport) also need your support.

If you would like to help your community in a crisis, why not become a Community Reserve Volunteer with BritishRedCross.

Message in a Bottle is a simple scheme to help emergency services know your medical history. Paramedics, police, fire-fighters and social services know to look in the fridge when they see the #MessageInABottle stickers, supplied by #LionsClub. These kits are available for free from: Local Lions clubs, Surrey Fire and Rescue, Age Concern, Neighbourhood Watch groups, police stations and hosing associations.
